A fair amount of stone work and brick laying will be needed so I'd be in a better position if I understood more about bricklaying. Before doing this course I had a limited experience with patios and other brickwork that doesn't need to be that straight. A huge amount more precision is needed to build a straight wall! The Bricklaying Courses I did was fantastic. Based in Minehead and run by Steve Flynn it ran over two weekends.

Four single skin four course walls. These took me a day. I think I'm about an 16th of the speed of a professional.

My final wall was the most techical one. It is a cavity wall with wall ties and both horizonal and vertical Damp Proof Courses (DPC). The black strip is a DPC before being hidden in the wall.
