Extra Strip Of Land

In May 2006 I noticed a strip of grass between my place and Sydenham Place (the flats next door). Its an odd, triangular shaped plot of plan approx. 1m x 7m and it doesn't appear to be any use to Sydenham place. On 8th June 2006 I made an offer for this strip of land which was accepted. There was a whole load of faffing about and we didn't sign the exchange agreement until 20th November 2007.

It is important that my use of the land doesn't have a negative effect on their building. The 532 days it took between offer and exchange are mainly down to the confirmation of every detail by each of the 8 owners of Sydenham Place. To stop this delaying my project I changed the specification with the structural engineer for the wall bearing beam at this end of the building to be suitable for either position - with the land or without.
